How do I clean my antique wicker?

Cleaning

Whether you have rattan, reed, willow or bamboo, you should clean your wicker furniture on a regular basis.

First, you should vacuum or dust first.
Wash down with a soft brush or sponge, using a mild detergent.
Rinse outside with a hose.
Dry in the sun, or if you're inside cleaning, use a hair dryer or fan.
Dry completely before using.

For wicker that is painted-do not wet completely. Rather, vacuum or dust and use a damp sponge. This will prevent paint from peeling.
